The ZR-Race range from the Bonn-based mail order company is priced between 1000 and 2000 euros. After the top model in BIKE 4/2014 we have now set our sights on version 8.0. The lightweight aluminium 29er with its "raw look" inspires from the very first pedal stroke with its playful handling and reassuring confidence as soon as the technical descents begin. This makes the Radon the testers' favourite and the handling winner. If you take a look at the component list, you'll click your tongue: XT drivetrain and brakes, SID fork, DT Spline wheels and Syntace components set the benchmark in the test field. Shimano's I-Spec clamps ensure that the cockpit looks tidy. Two thru-axles also equip the ZR Race for heavy riders. The only minor criticism: the rear derailleur cables are difficult to slide through the excessively bent cable housings.
