The 1536 gram, very attractively manufactured hydroformed aluminium frame of the Giant 29er has already proven itself in the test in BIKE 2/10 -> inspires. It comes with a tapered head tube, QR15 thru-axle, square stays and a high-quality look. The steep angles and short wheelbase (small frame size) give the bike a very manoeuvrable character, you almost forget that you're sitting on a 29er. The test riders particularly enjoyed riding downhill and on singletrack. Quote: "As manoeuvrable as a 26er with the reserves of a 29er." The equipment with Fox fork and Shimano SLX groupset gives no cause for criticism, it is appropriate for the price. Only the brakes could be more powerful. Thankfully, Giant has eliminated the lead-heavy wheels from last year. Only one bottle cage position in the frame costs the XTC three points.
