Due to delivery difficulties and production bottlenecks during the coronavirus pandemic, some 2022 Cube Bikes models It was only in the last few weeks that shop owners, online retailers and end customers began to realise the potential of the Cube. It's clear that the Bavarian bike manufacturer Cube has therefore held back for a long time with the presentation of its new 2023 models. After all, who buys an "old" model when the successor can already be found on the website or next to it in the bike shop? Cube actually invites the press to its headquarters in Waldershof every year as part of its in-house exhibition in August to present its new mountain bikes, e-bikes and road bikes for the coming season. However, there was no such event last year. Instead, at the end of August at the Vuelta a España, Cube presented its new, ultra-light Litening Air racing bike. New Cube bikes for 2023 are now also appearing on the website at the turn of the year. However, there are no completely revised models or even new developments in the popular Stereo series, only familiar models such as the classic Elite hardtail in new colours and equipment variants. We give a brief overview of what Cube prospective customers can expect from three highlight models of the Elite hardtail 2023:
According to Cube, the top model of the race hardtail with the C:68X carbon frame weighs 8.5 kilos and costs 5999 euros. The Fox 32 Step-Cast at the front absorbs the shocks, while the electronic Sram AXS Eagle drivetrain directs the chain over the 12 sprockets. For downhill deceleration, Cube also relies on hydraulic MT8 SL disc brakes from Magura for its Elite C:68X SLT in 2023. Newmen Advanced SL X.A carbon wheels with 25 millimetre wide rims and Schwalbe Racing Ray/Ralph tyres with Aerothan tubes ensure explosive acceleration and as much propulsion as possible.
Lightness is the trump card for children's bikes and youth bikes! With the Elite 240 C:62 SLX, Cube Bikes pulls out all the stops to give ambitious young racers decisive advantages. Firstly, a lightweight carbon frame with a rigid carbon fork which, according to Cube, is designed to meet the requirements of smaller, lighter riders. Then there are the lightweight 24-inch Newmen wheels with Schwalbe Aerothan tyres, which ensure light-footed acceleration. For the drivetrain, Cube combines its own Action Rookies crankset with a Sram GX 11-speed drivetrain. In addition, there is a handlebar with thin grips and adjustable brake levers specially designed for children's hands. The brakes are hydraulic Magura MT8 Pro disc brakes with 140 mm discs. Cube charges 2199 euros for the 6.7-kilo 24-inch bike.
From the age of around 10 years or a height of 125 centimetres, parents can consider the Cube Elite Rookie for their children. The junior mountain bike comes with a carbon frame and weighs 10.4 kilos including suspension fork. The small carbon frame, which Cube equips with 27.5-inch wheels (size XS) or 29-inch wheels (size S) depending on the size, has the same features as the race hardtails for adults. The Manitou Markhor suspension fork can be adjusted to the low body weight of young riders. The Sram SX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain delivers 454 per cent gear range (11-50 tooth cassette). The powerful Magura MT Thirty disc brakes bring the bike safely to a halt at the finish line. As with all of its high-quality children's bikes, Cube also reduces the weight of the Elite SLX Rookie's wheels with lightweight Schwalbe Aerothan tyres. Price for the junior mountain bike from Cube for 2023: 1799 euros.
