The Hummingbird Ti32 is one of two 32-inch hardtails that cyclists can already order from Neuhaus Metalworks. This titanium mountain bike incorporates the new wheel size into a high-quality and timeless design. We’ve taken a closer look at the exotic Neuhaus Hummingbird Ti32.

As is the case with so many aspects of the new 32-inch revolution, the Hummingbird Ti32 is produced by a small bike brand that is already incorporating the new wheel standard into high-quality frames. Neuhaus Metalworks, based in Novato, California, specialises in high-quality mountain bikes and gravel bikes made from steel and titanium. In the small workshop, a handful of small-batch models are produced, alongside bespoke builds and 3D-printed components.

At Neuhaus, particular emphasis is placed on size-specific frame designs, in which each frame size is individually optimised in terms of geometry, stiffness and tube set. As well as a standard range, the manufacturer also offers bespoke bicycles, which are built in its own workshop and tailored to the riders’ needs. Guided by the principle of building the world’s finest metal bicycles, Neuhaus Metalworks combines traditional craftsmanship with modern engineering. The latest result of this combination: the Hummingbird Ti32.

Conclusion

The Neuhaus Metalworks Hummingbird Ti32 speaks for itself with its balanced geometry and lovingly hand-built titanium frame. As Neuhaus produces these bikes in small batches rather than as one-offs, prices remain lower than those of other suppliers. Nevertheless, you certainly won’t come across an American-made 32-inch hardtail like this on every street corner. - Jan Timmermann, BIKE editor

This titanium hardtail is based on the classic Hummingbird model, which Neuhaus has long offered with 29-inch wheels. It is designed to be a well-balanced companion for long tours and marathon events. The frame, made from high-quality titanium, promises a modest weight, a high-quality ride and a timeless finish.

Nick Neuhaus, founder of Neuhaus Metalworks, produces the Hummingbird Ti32 in small batches and currently offers only two different frame sizes. For those who find these do not fit, Neuhaus offers the option of custom-made sizes. The first frames are expected to be available from autumn 2026. Orders are already being taken and are also welcome from Germany. Anyone wishing to own the complete bike pictured, fitted with Shimano XT components, will need to be prepared to pay a good 7,000 euros. As mass-produced suspension forks for 32-inch wheels are not yet available, the first road-ready Hummingbird Ti32 features an upside-down fork from Bright Racing Shoks. Neuhaus offers a five-year warranty on the frame and a crash replacement programme.

Technical details

Both standard frame sizes of the Neuhaus Hummingbird Ti32 are characterised by a flat head angle of 66.5 degrees and a steep seat angle of 74.5 degrees. As is typical for a size 32, the stack measurements are high. By contrast, the chainstays are relatively short at 445 millimetres. The Hummingbird Ti32’s frame is constructed from quad-butted titanium tubes, cut to exact length and tailored to specific frame sizes.

The Neuhaus titanium hardtail features three bottle cage mounts, Boost hub standard, a threaded BSA bottom bracket and clearance for tyres up to 2.4 inches wide. The cables and hoses run along the outside of the frame. The standard Hummingbird Ti32 comes with fixed UDH dropouts to save weight. However, on request, Neuhaus can also fit adjustable dropouts for single-speed use.
