Fantic is expanding its e-MTB range with the new Rhapsody e-enduro. Whilst the Sierra and Ridge models, which have already been launched, cover the trail and all-mountain segments, the Italian brand is positioning the Rhapsody as an e-enduro for rough descents and challenging routes. The range is based on a carbon frame and features 180 millimetres of suspension travel at both the front and rear across the entire range.
At the heart of the bike is the fifth-generation Bosch Performance Line CX, delivering up to 120 Newton-metres of torque. The PowerTube battery, integrated into the closed down tube, offers a capacity of 800 watt-hours. An optional 250-watt-hour range extender is available for longer rides. A distinctive feature of the Rhapsody is its battery integration: the battery is removed via an opening on the underside of the down tube. Fantic aims to combine the advantages of a removable battery with a frame structure that is as enclosed as possible.
For the suspension, Fantic has opted for a rear suspension kinematics system featuring a coaxial Horst joint on the rear wheel. This is designed to largely decouple braking forces from suspension compression – with the aim of delivering greater traction and a more responsive suspension when braking on uneven surfaces. According to Fantic, pedal kickback during suspension compression is also particularly low.
In terms of its geometry, the Rhapsody is designed to suit modern enduro riding: with a sporty riding position, plenty of freedom of movement whilst stationary, and stable handling at high speeds on challenging enduro trails.
Three trim levels are planned. The Rhapsody Sport is the entry-level model, featuring RockShox Domain Gold R, RockShox Deluxe Select, SRAM Eagle 70 and SRAM DB6 brakes. The Race is fitted with a RockShox Zeb Select, a RockShox Vivid rear shock, an electronic SRAM GX T-Type AXS groupset and SRAM Maven brakes. At the top of the range is the Factory, featuring a Fox 38 Factory fork, a Fox Float X2 Factory shock, SRAM X0 T-Type AXS, DT Swiss HX1700 wheelsets and SRAM Maven Ultimate brakes.
All three Rhapsody models are available in Forest Gold; according to the manufacturer, their total weight is 22.9 kilos. Sizes: S, M, L and XL.
