In 2010, the YT Tues started his career as a bargain freerider, was later sent to the gym to train up, and then flexed his muscles as a thoroughbred racer. The message: I can also win downhill World Cups! Tues has won 21 victories so far. The YT riders would be stupid to change the much-praised concept. For example, giving the bike a high-pivot rear end just because it's trendy at the moment.
The new Tues has been carefully modified, the geo modernised and the adjustment options increased: The bike can be ridden as an All-29 (as in our test) or as an MX version with a small 27.5-inch rear wheel. The chainstays can be adjusted to be longer (+5 mm) for a smoother ride, the head angle can be slackened (63.2°) and the bottom bracket can be lowered even further (-5 mm).
What has remained the same is the full-sensory feel and the pleasant handling of the carbon speedster. Even on twisty trails like the "Supernatural" in Serfaus, we didn't feel overpowered; the bike takes the momentum like an enduro bike. A few months ago, we tested the Bike in individual test so we could only speculate that it is a first-class big bike. The direct comparison was missing. Now we have it, and it confirms our impression: top! The YT steers precisely with its amazingly confident geo, feels light and very "jumpy", in other words: it loves jumps. At the same time, you can hold the throttle like there's no tomorrow.
The YT Tues is one of the best big bikes on the market. Top in all areas. Great: the mix of direct riding feel and yet potent. This makes it the ideal choice for racers and park rats alike.
The YT Tues is my test winner. I felt the fastest on it. The Commencal was a little more comfortable in rough sections, but the YT is the best at being fast and playful. - Stefan Garlicki (height: 1.84 m)
