The Stereo Hybrid One44 is probably one of the best-selling full-suspension e-mountain bikes on the market. No wonder, as industry giant Cube has a huge dealer network and offers extremely good value for money with its bikes. The One44 also comes with the equally popular Bosch Performance CX and large 800 watt-hour removable battery. This appeals to a broad target group.
The character of this e-mountainbike is also really versatile. The bike works in everyday life, on mountain tours and also on more demanding trails. But which of the seven equipment variants is the best? Is 4399 euros enough for the race model, or does it really have to be 8499 euros for the super-light top model? Which bike offers the best price-performance ratio? We have already tested many models and provide tips for model selection.
The entry-level model in the series already offers solid equipment for ambitious e-bike riders. The Fox 36 AWL Sport suspension fork with 150 mm travel and the Fox Float Rhythm R shock ensure decent performance on light terrain - and are definitely above average in this price range.
The shifting mix of Shimano Deore and XT delivers precise 12-speed shifting, fine gear ratios and a good range. The hydraulic Shimano MT420 disc brakes with 203 mm rotors provide rock-solid deceleration. The in-house ACID wheels are reasonably priced and Schwalbe's Nobby Nic tyres are also from the tyre giant's less valuable performance line. This is not the first choice for serious trail use.
At 24.2 kg, the bike is pleasantly light for a full-suspension E-MTB in this price range with a large battery and powerful Bosch drive. The good Purion 400 display is already mounted on the handlebars. This is also rare in this price range. Attention: Only the slow 2A charger is supplied
For whom: Beginners and hobby riders who are looking for a fully-fledged E-Fully but have little off-road ambition.
For 600 euros more, there are noticeable upgrades in key areas: The Shimano XT BR-M8220 brakes replace the MT420 and offer even more braking power - a safety gain, especially on long descents.
The Newmen Performance 30 wheels are lighter and of higher quality than the ACID wheels. The Continental Kryptotal tyres (front/rear combination in 2.4") provide noticeably more grip and control than the Nobby Nics, as well as more puncture protection. The Fox Performance shock also offers more adjustment options. The Shimano XT shifters (instead of Deore) improve the ergonomics on the handlebars.
There is also a noteworthy update to the Bosch parts. The Kiox 400C display is slimly integrated into the top tube and offers a significantly larger screen. The Bosch charger with 4A is included in the scope of delivery.
Is the surcharge worth it? If you're aiming for off-road: Yes, definitely! Better brakes, better suspension and much grippier and more robust tyres are definitely noticeable on the trail.
Here you pay 700 euros more for two high-tech features: The electronic Shimano XT Di2 gears shift more precisely, with less maintenance and wirelessly. The Di2 system also communicates with the Bosch motor, so shifting is also possible while rolling or fully automatically.
The highlight is the front ABS system on the front brake, which prevents rollovers during emergency braking and offers more safety, especially downhill. Suspension, wheels and tyres remain identical to the Stereo Hybrid One44 SLX.
Is the surcharge worth it? Only if you specifically want the Shimano Di2 electronic wireless shifting with automatic function or ABS. If you don't need either, the normal SLX offers the same riding characteristics and trail strength for less money. And even less weight. For even more off-road performance, it's better to invest in the TM model.
For just 300 euros more than the Di2 model, Cube is switching completely to Sram: the Sram GX Eagle AXS Transmission is completely wireless and offers state-of-the-art shifting technology. The Sram Maven Bronze brakes are extremely powerful (200 mm discs). Another upgrade are the Newmen Beskar 30 wheels - more robust than the Performance series. The Fox Float X Performance shock is also a step up from the standard Performance.
Is the surcharge worth it? Absolutely! For 300 euros more you get better brakes, better wheels, better shocks and a wireless system - top value for money.
You have to fork out 1000 euros more for this model, a hefty surcharge. The most relevant difference is the suspension. This is where you enter the Fox Factory world: The Fox 36 Factory, albeit "only" with GripX damping, offers significantly finer tuning options and higher quality damping than the Performance model. The Fox Float X Factory shock is the top-of-the-range version with high- and low-speed damping adjustment. If you don't want to spend too much time adjusting the settings, you might find this too much of a challenge. Back to Shimano: The electronic XT Di2 drivetrain and the front ABS are technical refinements that are also a matter of taste. The Schwalbe Albert tyres (Trail Pro front, Gravity Pro rear, 2.5") are specially optimised for enduro use and come with a particularly supple radial casing.
Is the surcharge worth it? For demanding enduro riders yes! The Factory suspension makes all the difference on technical trails. However, the braking system with ABS can also be an exclusion criterion, depending on personal preferences.
The top model for 1,500 euros more leaves nothing to be desired: The Fox 36 Factory GRIPX2 is the absolute reference among enduro forks with the most detailed adjustment options. The Magura Gustav PRO with 4-piston callipers front and rear offers extreme braking power. Sram XX Eagle AXS is Sram's top groupset - wireless, light, precise. The Newmen Phase 30 wheels are made of carbon and are not only high quality but also super light. At 23.4 kg, the SLT is a whole kilo lighter than the base model. Despite super robust components and more stable tyres.
Is the surcharge worth it? For absolute enthusiasts who want the best or the lightest without compromise, the top model is of course the best choice. However, the surcharge is considerable. For most trail and touring bikers, however, the AT or TM is perfectly adequate.

If you are looking for a solid e-MTB for mixed use up to mountain tours and trails, you will find a very solid companion in the SLX model for 4999. The updates to the entry-level "Race" model are worthwhile at the latest if the bike is also to be ridden away from smooth gravel tracks.
When trails and demanding tours are on the programme, the TM model really comes into its own. For 5999 euros, you get a really solid package. There is only room for improvement in the suspension elements and in terms of weight tuning with high-quality carbon parts. Otherwise, no functional wishes remain unfulfilled. Due to the hefty surcharge compared to the AT, we give the TM our seal of approval.
