The Bergamont Grandurance Elite scores particularly well in terms of manoeuvrability. MTB riders will certainly feel comfortable on the bike. How does it ride in everyday life?

Anyone switching from MTB to gravel will certainly feel very comfortable on this bike. The top tube is short, the handlebars low, despite two remaining spacers. If you grab the upper handlebars on a straight stretch, you sit very relaxed for a gravel bike and almost completely without support. If you grab the brakes or the lower link and keep your upper body low, you look down at the front wheel from above, head far in front of the handlebars. With the weight distribution in front of you, the bike responds to steering commands like lightning thanks to the slightly coarser knobs.

The Bergamont Grandurance Elite performs particularly well around tight bends and on unpaved surfaces. even the Conway GRV 12.0 in terms of manoeuvrability! But the rider has to absorb impacts from below, the carbon frameset is quite stiff and hardly conceals any bumps. The position also requires some experience. The Bergamont needs to be balanced or rather loaded at the rear, otherwise the manoeuvrability will result in constant small snaking lines. Highlight: The dropper seatpost, which can be operated from the left shift lever, can be lowered by 79 mm while riding for difficult descents or for getting on and off the bike.

Conclusion on the Bergamont Grandurance Elite

In terms of agility and off-road qualities, the Grandurance Elite is world class, but for everyday use and touring, the stiff frame and necessary riding skills cost it the all-rounder crown; for the mountains, it lacks one or two gears.
