The Benotti Fuoco Gravel is strongly reminiscent of a racing bike. The bike comes with high-quality components and therefore has its price. Can it also do gravel?

Boy, is that progressing! Benotti belongs to the same group as the carbon icons from AX Lightness, so they know how carbon fibre works. The frameset made of high-quality T800 fibres with huge tube diameters is so stiff and rides almost as dynamically as a top-class racing bike. The position is much more relaxed, similar to the Riverside, if you removed the spacers under the stem you would have a pure sports bike. But: It's comfortable! Mainly because of the smart handlebars from the same company, the drop is short and flat, so the brake levers are hardly any further away than the upper handlebars and the lower handlebars are hardly any lower.

The Benotti custom system would also allow the bike to be used as a comfort version with wide tyres; there is enough space on the massive rear triangle.Photo: Horst FadelThe Benotti custom system would also allow the bike to be used as a comfort version with wide tyres; there is enough space on the massive rear triangle.

These small levers give you a lot of feel and maximum confidence in the front wheel, even in gravel bends! And despite the fairly lightweight design, there are threads for panniers from the hubs to the top tube, and you can even fit classic pannier racks! If you are travelling with the bike, you can also take on high mountain terrain under the knobbly tyres, and the cutting-edge 2x12 electric drivetrain provides sufficient gear ratios in addition to the cleanest gear changes.

Conclusion on the Benotti Fuoco

Thanks to top carbon and Sram Rival eTap AXS gearing, the riding dynamics are hard to beat, but thanks to carbon and eTap it is also more expensive than the Koga Colmaro Extreme and somewhat more sensitive - which is why the Benotti Fuoco takes second place among the all-rounders.
