With the Nuroad C:62 Race, Cube brings a high-quality performance gravel bike to the masses. A lightweight carbon frame, proven Shimano technology and modern geometry make it a real all-round sports machine for road and gravel.

Conclusion on the Cube Nuroad C:62 Race

The Cube Nuroad C:62 Race* is one of the most harmonious performance packages in the upper mid-range gravel segment. For a comparatively moderate budget, Cube delivers a high-quality carbon frame, reliable Shimano GRX equipment and modern, versatile geometry. Anyone looking for a fast, versatile bike for sporty tours, long gravel laps and first races will find an all-round convincing combination of efficiency, comfort and suitability for everyday use. A real "do-it-all" gravel bike with a focus on riding fun and reliability.

Before we take a closer look at the Nuroad C:62 Race, it's worth taking a look at the model structure and nomenclature of the series. The Cube Nuroad series follows a clear hierarchy according to equipment and intended use. At the top are the SLT models with minimal weight, high-end components and top technology. Below this, the SLX variants are positioned as the upper mid-range with modern, mostly electronic shifting.

In the mid-range, the Race model is the classic all-rounder with balanced performance and a wide gear ratio, while the EXC and the slightly cheaper EX versions with 1x drivetrains are aimed at purists.

The Pro marks the entry level as a solid workhorse and the One as an affordable basic model for beginners. The range is complemented by FE versions, which appeal primarily to commuters with complete everyday equipment such as mudguards, pannier rack and lighting system.

How the Cube Nuroad C:62 Race rides

On the trail, the Nuroad C:62 Race impresses with a successful mix of comfort, efficiency and control. Thanks to the moderately sporty riding position, you quickly feel at ease - efficient when setting off, but not extremely stretched. The slacker steering angle and longer wheelbase ensure a smooth ride, especially on fast descents or loose surfaces. At the same time, the bike remains agile enough to be steered precisely on winding trails.

Alternative: The Nuroad C:62 EXC

The Cube Nuroad C:62 EXC and the Cube Nuroad C:62 Race for the 2026 model year have exactly the same frame geometry. Both models are based on the same chassis design, which Cube calls "Gravel Endurance Geometry". The difference between the two models is not in the frame itself, but purely in the equipment and colour design. The full carbon fork is also identical on both models in terms of geometry (installation height and fork), as are the stem length and handlebar width.

The background to this is Cube's platform strategy: the manufacturer uses the same mould (Advanced Twin Mold Technology) for the entire C:62 Nuroad series (from the entry-level carbon model to the top end). This saves development costs.

The main differences in terms of equipment: Cube relies on the Sram package of GRX Di2 drivetrain (2 x 12 gears) and GRX brake system for the Race model, and the Sram package of Force XPLR AXS drivetrain (1 x 13) and Force stoppers for the EXC model. The double drivetrain offers a finer gradation and wider range, while the single drivetrain is cleaner and lighter - but requires more trained legs.

Equipment highlights

The centrepiece of the Nuroad C:62 Race is Shimano's electronic GRX Di2 2x12 drivetrain. It offers a fine gear gradation for fast tarmac passages and at the same time enough range for steep climbs in the terrain. Training analysts will be delighted with the integrated power meter.

There are also hydraulic disc brakes with 160 mm discs, which provide constant deceleration even in wet conditions or on long descents. The fine Newmen carbon wheels are tubeless-ready, allowing the system to be flexibly adapted - from puncture-proof to particularly easy rolling.
