The revised Stevens Camino RS race gravel bike is based on the tried and tested Camino models. The manufacturer promises improved riding efficiency, more manoeuvrability and a lower weight compared to the current Camino Pro frame.

Topics in this article

The Hamburg-based company developed the Camino RS to offer a high-quality gravel bike for racing and fast rides. Until now, such a model was missing from the range. According to the manufacturer, the carbon frame is lightweight and stiffness-optimised. The frame is said to save 200 grams compared to a Camino Pro. This is partly due to the "missing" bolt-on points, as found on bikepacking models.

The most important facts about the Stevens Camino RS

  • Weight of complete wheel: from 8070 grams (weighed weight)
  • Stack/Reach/STR: 591/406 millimetres/1.46
  • Max. tyre clearance: 45 millimetres
  • Frame sizes: 49, 51, 54, 56, 58, 61
  • Prices: 3299 to 5199 Euro

The top model, which TOUR will be presenting in detail in an upcoming issue, weighed in at 8070 grams. A strong result, as a look at the competition makes clear. In the current test year, no lighter gravel bike has ever rolled into our laboratory. In 2024, the Trek Checkmate, Canyon Grail and Rose Backroad FF topped the weight rankings in the off-road segment.

The new Camino RS has been aerodynamically optimised. Among other things, the head tube has been strongly waisted. However, Stevens has dispensed with a one-piece cockpit.Photo: Skyshot GmbH / Markus GreberThe new Camino RS has been aerodynamically optimised. Among other things, the head tube has been strongly waisted. However, Stevens has dispensed with a one-piece cockpit.

Aero optimisation also played a central role in the development. Stevens' efforts are particularly evident in the tapered head tube and the tear-off edges on the fork, down tube and seat stays. The fast Arcalis served as a role model. The Hanseatic company did not disclose any specific aero performance. Meanwhile, the sloping top tube is taken from the long-distance Xenith.

Equipment and prices

The Camino RS is available in three equipment variants at prices between €3,299 and €5,199. The basic and top-of-the-range models are equipped with single-speed groupsets from SRAM (Force or Apex) for off-road use, while the mid-range version is fitted with Shimano's dual-speed GRX Di2.
