Ergon is replacing its long-running GA2 model with the new GMA and GMA Fat grips. With improved ergonomics and a rubber compound manufactured in Germany, the specialists from Koblenz are aiming to make their mark on the trails.

Ergon is expanding its expertise in the mountain bike sector and, with the new GMA series, is launching the successor to the tried-and-tested GA2 all-mountain grip. The grips feature a tapered, ergonomic shape that tapers towards the palm of the hand and widens slightly towards the outside. The GMA is designed to outperform its popular predecessor in every respect: greater relief for the wrists, less numbness and a better grip. The range also makes use of environmentally friendly materials.

A key highlight is the optimised surface profile with an improved ‘finger grip’ on the underside. This is designed to ensure maximum grip and control during technically demanding sections. The grips are manufactured directly in Germany from a highly elastic, durable Gravity rubber compound. Furthermore, they are completely free from latex and PAHs and have been tested for harmful substances in accordance with the strict guidelines of the SGS Fresenius Institute.

To ensure a secure, twist-proof and precise fit, Ergon fits CNC-machined aluminium clamps to the inner ends of the grips. Thanks to laser-etched index markings, the rotation of the grips can be perfectly adjusted to the rider’s individual needs. Whilst the standard GMA model is designed to provide direct feedback from the road surface, the GMA Fat variant – which is 2 mm thicker with a diameter of 32 mm – is aimed at riders with larger hands or those seeking better damping. Both models are available in a wide range of colours.
