Avinox launches the first accessory for its e-bike drive system. The new front light weighs just 105 grams. The LED lighting achieves up to 1200 lumens and can be controlled wirelessly via the Avinox controller. The problem is that the light is not yet available in Germany, at least for the time being.

DJI caused quite a stir at Eurobike with its Avinox e-bike system. Super-light and with a peak power of up to 1000 watts and 120 Nm: even in laboratory tests, the lightweight powerhouse delivers what it promises. Now Avinox is taking off with its first accessory. The new front light is intended to combine a compact design with high light output.

The LED lighting is designed to utilise highly efficient LEDs and achieves a brightness of up to 1200 lumens in high beam mode. A precisely optimised reflector surface distributes the light evenly and ensures a clear view. The ribbed heat dissipation structure keeps the front light cool and is intended to combine practical design with appealing aesthetics. The slim housing can be mounted on various types of bike.

Wireless system integration

The front light integrates seamlessly into the existing Avinox e-bike drive system. The wireless control eliminates the need for additional cabling. The front light is powered by the powerful e-bike battery. Integration takes place via the existing components of the drive system.

Drivers can operate the lights via the wireless Avinox controllers without taking their eyes off the road. A simple press of a button switches between high and low beam. This function is just as suitable for evening mountain bike tours as it is for everyday journeys. The controllers enable precise adjustment of the illumination to the respective conditions.

Weatherproof magnesium construction

The housing is made of aircraft-grade magnesium-aluminium alloy and achieves protection class IP56. An advanced seal protects against rain, mud and sand. The robust construction withstands extreme weather conditions and ensures reliable function in off-road applications. The material combines low weight with high strength.

The compact dimensions of 69 × 53 × 51 mm allow flexible mounting on different types of bicycles. The front light adapts to different frame geometries and should not detract from the bike's aesthetics. The sophisticated design optimises both the aerodynamic properties and the heat dissipation of the LED components.

Availability and installation kit

Amflow introduces the front light as the first partner for the PL model. The "Amflow Smart Front Light Combo" includes the complete installation kit with stem mounting adapter, angle adjustment screw and four spacers. Two frame mounting screws, locking screws with grommets and cable connectors complete the set. Two cable grommet fastening screws enable professional installation.

The front light is now available in selected markets. Availability includes Australia, Austria, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom. In other words: Germany is not included for now! However, further markets and partnerships are to follow in order to continuously expand the Avinox ecosystem.

BIKE assessment of the Avinox front light

DJI's new front light is more than just dangerous competition for manufacturers of high-quality lighting from Lupine to Supernova. The front light also shows Avinox's commitment not to limit itself purely to the system components of the e-bike drive. Apparently, DJI wants to create a complete ecosystem around the Avinox M1 motor. However, as long as the lamp is not available in Germany and no price has been set, DJI's attack on the accessories market will remain a toothless tiger. - Adrian Kaether, Editor Test & Technology
