Besides Smith Endura is now also increasingly focussing on the Koroyd technologyto better absorb impacts on the helmet. According to the manufacturer, the honeycomb structure, which looks like many straws glued together, is said to absorb energy 30 per cent more effectively than conventional EPS foams in the event of a fall, without compromising on ventilation.
The new MT 500 helmet is designed primarily for enduro and all-mountain use and comes in three different sizes (S-M; M-L; L-XL). An adjustable visor and a clip on the back offer space for a goggle. There is an integrated click system for helmet cameras or lights on the top of the helmet. In size M-L, the helmet weighs 345 grams and costs 165 euros.

In addition to the helmet, Endura also uses Koroyd technology in the new MTR knee pads on. With just a mesh fabric on the back, the knee pad is designed to increase comfort on long tours. Silicone trims and a small Velcro fastener on the upper waistband keep the lightweight protector in place. The pre-moulded Koroyd-Flex pad can be removed from the protector for washing or drying.
