With the Impala KinetiCore, Lazer is launching a new generation of MTB helmet onto the market. The model introduces DualCore technology, which the manufacturer claims will take safety and performance to a new level. The innovation is based on over ten years of research and further develops the proven KinetiCore technology.
The DualCore construction utilises a double-layer EPS structure with different densities. The softer inner layer is designed to better absorb rotational impacts, while the harder outer layer promises to absorb direct impacts. "DualCore" stands for the next generation of impact protection.
"By combining two EPS densities in a single helmet design, Lazer has created a smarter, lighter and safer system," explains Peter Duynslaeger, General Manager at Lazer.

The Impala KinetiCore integrates Controlled Crumple Zones, which are designed to deform specifically in the event of an impact. According to the manufacturer, these zones direct the impact energy away from the head and reduce rotational forces. The technology also promises lower weight, improved ventilation and reduced plastic consumption compared to conventional designs.
The final design was created in collaboration with professional mountain biker Jono Jones, who carried out extensive tests on various surfaces. "Working with Lazer on this project was fantastic. I have tested the Impala KinetiCore on all kinds of surfaces and it has impressed every time," says Jones.
The features of the Impala KinetiCore are focussed on practicality for MTB use. A magnetic fastener makes it easy to put on even with cold hands or gloves. According to the manufacturer, the recycled straps emphasise the Belgian company's approach to sustainability.
A detachable camera mount system integrates seamlessly into the helmet design. The mount automatically releases in the event of an impact to prevent additional rotational forces. A three-stage adjustable breakaway visor can be adapted to different riding conditions, while a non-slip panel on the back holds goggles securely in place.
Safety features complete the basic equipment of the MTB helmet. The integrated RECCO rescue reflector enables rescuers to locate you without batteries or activation. The adjustable floating headband is designed to ensure a customised fit, while the ventilation promises comfort even in changing weather and terrain conditions.
The total weight is 370 grams in size M. The helmet is available in sizes S, M and L. There are four colour variants to choose from: Matte Coral Peach, Matte Black, Matte Dark Green Mint and Full White. The helmet costs 199.95 euros and is available now
