The Jack Wolfskin Seat Bag is easy to pack and remains stable thanks to the reinforcement - even if the luggage is not stuffed to the last hole. It passed an extreme test - tent in, bag closed and off, with plenty of air under the tent. We particularly like the reflective print and the external compartment for tent poles is practical because the poles don't take up valuable space inside the bag. The buckles that have to be threaded over the saddle struts are quite large, so fitting them requires a little dexterity. The recycled material is seam-sealed and should therefore be waterproof. Due to the dry summer, we have not yet been able to confirm this, despite numerous adventures - if in doubt, an additional drybag ensures safety, because nothing is more annoying on a bikepacking tour than a damp sleeping bag.
The water-repellent, 3.5 litre frame bag just about fitted into the test bike (size S). Due to its soft material, you have to be careful not to pack it too bulging to avoid bumping your legs. Zips on both sides can be opened once from the front and once from the back - this is very practical if you know where something has been packed. Large reflective prints also increase visibility here.
