The Spanish bike label Mondraker has recognised what people want: Trail bikes. The new Scree aims to cater to the premier class with an aluminium trail bike with a powerful Bosch motor, all-round qualities, 130 millimetres of suspension travel at the rear and 150 at the front - and all at affordable prices, starting at 5199 euros.

Mondraker presents the Scree, a new trail e-bike aimed at beginners and those switching from classic mountain bikes. According to the manufacturer, the model inherits the technology and performance of the well-known Crafty model, but interprets it in a more versatile and playful format. With the Scree, Mondraker completes its e-bike range in the medium suspension travel segment and positions the bike as the ideal companion for versatile trail riding. The Scree is powered by the latest Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 motor with 100 Nm torque and a removable 800 Wh battery.
The Scree frame is made of 6061 aluminium in Stealth Evo construction and has a deliberately low standover height. This is intended to lower the bike's centre of gravity, which should improve both handling and riding comfort. The design is characterised by polished weld seams on the main frame, which gives the bike a unique identity. The frame integrates the Mondraker-typical Zero Suspension System with revised kinematics, which provides 130 millimetres of rear suspension travel. The cables are routed internally through the head tube using the HHG system (Head Tube Hidden Guiding). Special attention has been paid to frame protection - the Scree has special plastic and rubber protection elements as well as an integrated mudguard on the shock.

Bosch, Bosch, Bosch!
Propulsion is provided by the new Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 motor with 100 Nm torque. It is one of the most powerful and sophisticated drives in the segment. Power is supplied by an integrated but removable battery with a capacity of 800 Wh (600 Wh for the entry-level Scree S600 model). The bike is also compatible with the Bosch Smart System and can be extended with an optional 250 Wh range extender. It is controlled via a Bosch Kiox 400 display integrated into the top tube in combination with the Bosch Mini Remote on the handlebars. It is also worth noting that two bottle cages can be fitted - one for the water bottle and one for the range extender.

The combination of 130 millimetres of suspension travel at the rear and 150 millimetres at the fork clearly positions the Scree in the trail segment. However, we also know that the range of use for e-bikes is shifting further towards enduro. All models roll on 29-inch wheels and offer space for tyres with a width of up to 66 millimetres (2.6 inches). The equipment varies depending on the model variant, although even the entry-level model comes with solid components. The basic equipment includes a Boost rear axle with 148x12 millimetres, a tapered head tube, a mount for disc brakes with a diameter of 200 millimetres in the post-mount standard and a universal UDH derailleur hanger standard. Practical for everyday use: the bike is prepared for mounting a side stand.

Which one for whom?
The Mondraker Scree is available in four equipment variants: S600, S, R and RR. The top model, the Scree RR, comes in an eye-catching ultraviolet/superblack colour combination and is equipped with high-quality components. These include a Fox 36 GRIP X2 Factory fork with 150 millimetres of travel, a Fox Float Factory EVOL shock, e*thirteen Grappler Core wheels, SRAM DB8 Stealth brakes, an X-Fusion Manic seatpost and an electronic SRAM S1000 Eagle AXS T-Type drivetrain. The Scree R in Superblack/Nimbus Grey relies on a Fox 36 Rhythm Float GRIP fork, a Fox Float Rhythm EVOL shock and a mechanical SRAM 70 T-Type drivetrain. The Scree S (Flame Red/Earth Red) and Scree S600 models (optionally in Graphite Grey/Superblack or Optic White/Fog Grey) are equipped with RockShox Psylo Silver forks and RockShox Deluxe Select shocks.
The Mondraker Scree is available in five frame sizes: S, M, ML, L and XL. The seat tube lengths range from 380 millimetres (S) to 490 millimetres (XL), while the reach values vary from 440 millimetres to 520 millimetres. All sizes share the same steering angle of 65.5 degrees and an effective seat angle of 77 degrees. The chainstays are identical for all sizes at 456 millimetres, which should ensure balanced handling. The bottom bracket height is 340 millimetres with a drop of 35 millimetres. Mondraker's Forward Geometry philosophy, which is characterised by longer top tubes and shorter stems, is remarkable - a concept that Mondraker has been pursuing for years and which has now found favour throughout the industry.
