The Trance X4 already impressed last year. Now the slightly more expensive X3 model is ready for testing. The heart of the bike, namely the frame, suspension with Fox fork and Fox shock, leaves a very good impression, the fork even has the practical QR15 thru-axle. The mediocre level of the Shimano Deore groupset can therefore be tolerated - more important to us in this class is decent suspension. The rear works imperceptibly, but effectively and neutrally. The suspension travel fits together. You feel comfortable in the saddle, the geometry is equally pleasing on steep climbs and technical downhills. The powerful brakes, grippy tyres and wide handlebars convey a sense of security. Even the weight is okay. We also like the design and details such as the screw-in grips.
Conclusion: Harmonious all-mountain bike with successful equipment and mature riding characteristics.
