Very robust and grippy tyres, plus a solid suspension fork: the equipment of the Stevens E-Inception is designed for off-road riding.

The Stevens E-Inception AM is equipped to a high standard. This is reflected in the good suspension fork and the powerful brakes, but raises the price. Overall, it accompanies you confidently on tour.

Following a price increase, the Stevens E-Inception AM is clearly the most expensive bike in the Test of six E-Fullys up to 5500 euros. The equipment is slightly above average in comparison with the good Yari fork and Srams Code brakes. Bosch's Smart system with Kiox display is also of high quality. However, only the smaller 625 battery is fitted and the bulky aluminium frame is heavy. At 26 kilos, Stevens has the highest weight on the scales.

The saddle of the bike is also striking, as its character is more confident and cosy than lively and sporty. In particular, the very heavy wheels with the massive, super puncture-proof tyres make the ride feel sluggish. The suspension is designed to be comfortable and the rear end absorbs even small bumps. All in all, our test bike is the most sedate bike in the test, even though it is very compact in the 18-inch size supplied.

Stevens E-Inception AM GTF: Confident on tour, strong on the climbs

The bike does not have the downhill-hungry character suggested by the abbreviation GTF (Gas to Flat). It doesn't exactly encourage active riding manoeuvres or playing around on the trail. On the positive side, the uncomplicated climbing characteristics and the high level of riding comfort stand out. If you ride comfortably and prefer to be a passenger on a confident bike instead of actively pedalling your E-MTB over the trail, this is the bike for you.

Uphill, the front wheel maintains contact with the ground for a long time, traction on the rear wheel is good, and the highly controllable Bosch drive contributes to the good climbing characteristics. The E-Inception also takes a lot of work off the rider's hands downhill. On fast downhills, however, the short geometry and the moderately confident suspension do not provide the highest level of riding safety.
