MTB trailers: 2 single trailers in a duel
When children are in the house, the mountain bike often degenerates into a city donkey. To ensure that family outings are still fun, we tried out two single trailers off-road.

"Another rollercoaster, Dad!" squeals my son Benedikt happily from the trailer as we roll down the steep hill next to the forest track for the fifth time. He squeezes his cuddly toys dog and donkey as tightly as if they were his safety bar. A few laps later, the little one has already fallen asleep and is hanging limply in his harness. Adrenalin doesn't just make you happy, it also seems to make you pretty tired. And while I leisurely manoeuvre us up the gravel road, the little one is gently rocked to sleep in the trailer.

Single-track child trailers. A product could hardly be more specialised. But they can be a lifesaver for biking parents. Instead of sending the mountain bike on maternity leave or rushing along the trails during nap time, the offspring can simply come along for the ride. Where child trailers such as Thule, Burley and the like reach their comfort limits, the fun really begins with a single trailer.

For technical descents, he is prepared to tackle almost any ascent - under his own steam. As an accessories specialist, he is the first port of call for questions about equipment and add-on parts, while as head of copywriting he sweeps the language crumbs from the pages of the BIKE print editions.
