Bicycles and e-bikes will also be assembled and repaired at ATU in future.
As announced, the workshop chain ATU also wants to offer bicycle services in future. The branch with a special bicycle service was opened in Munich at the beginning of October. To launch the new service offer, ATU was able to gain the online retailer Fahrrad.de as a partner.

As a location for the new bike service, ATU has decided in favour of the existing branch in Munich-Moosach. A completely new, state-of-the-art bicycle workshop was set up there. Together with the ATU shop and the classic car workshop, customers are offered a range of mobility services and products that is unique not only in Munich.

"There is a growing need for professional and easily accessible service for bicycles and e-bikes in particular," says Lars Heyne, ATU Managing Director for Transformation. "Our aim with the ATU pilot workshop in Munich is to understand exactly what is particularly important to our customers and our cooperation partners when it comes to bicycle repair services. We want to use these findings to gradually build up a nationwide network of service stations. The pilot workshop in Munich will therefore help us to gain a good understanding of this business segment and decide on the appropriate rollout plan in the coming weeks."

ATU partnership with online retailer Fahrrad.de

The co-operation partner for the bike service project is the online specialist retailer Fahrrad.de. "The agreed partnership will enable us to offer customers an even more seamless customer experience between online and offline. This is particularly important for our growing e-bike business," says Max Heimann, CEO of Internetstores GmbH, the parent company of Fahrrad.de. "We are convinced that we have the right partner at our side with ATU."

With its new bicycle service, ATU is focussing primarily on services for younger bicycles and e-bikes. To this end, the company has already concluded cooperation agreements with the online retailer Fahrrad.de and two other companies in the bicycle industry. Their customers can now have their bike ordered online delivered directly to the ATU branch in Munich-Moosach.

An additional offer here is the assembly service for a professional, ergonomic adjustment by the new two-wheeler-specific ATU staff - this is intended to offer more convenience when buying online. This eliminates the need for customers to be present when the bike is delivered to their home - and anyone who does not want to assemble their bike themselves can collect it directly from ATU ready to ride if they wish. Customers also have the opportunity to find out about suitable accessories in the ATU shop and receive advice on options for transporting bikes by car. In addition to roof racks and towbars, ATU also offers various rear carrier systems for transporting up to four bicycles.

But even after the purchase and final assembly of the wheels, two-wheeler fans have a competent partner at their side with ATU. Services such as inspections, brake servicing and repairs are carried out professionally at ATU. In future, the company will offer qualified services for bicycles regardless of brand.
