Just in time for the start of the dark season, Sigma is expanding its Smart Light Series with three new Buster models. The new generation ranges from the compact Buster 160 to the connected Buster 1700 Link, which offers 1,700 lumens and app connectivity.

With these new models, Sigma is further expanding its lighting range. The new Buster range comprises the Buster 160, the Buster 900 Link and the top-of-the-range Buster 1700 Link. Due to StVZO regulations, the new lights are marketed in Germany as helmet lights and are aimed primarily at sporty cyclists who ride after sunset.

Buster 1700 Link as the new top-of-the-range model

At the top of the new range is the Sigma Buster 1700 Link. According to the manufacturer, the light delivers up to 1,700 lumens and is said to illuminate paths up to 210 metres away. This makes it the most powerful light in the Sigma range and should also appeal to trail cyclists. Thanks to its excellent illumination, night-time riding should also be no problem with this light.

As well as its high light output, Sigma focuses on smart features. The Buster 1700 Link can be managed and configured via the Sigma Ride app. The Remote One is also included in the package. The handlebar-mounted remote control allows you to switch between lighting modes or trigger an audible signal on the light.

Smart mid-range: Buster 900 Link

Sigma has positioned the new Buster 900 Link just below this model. It delivers up to 900 lumens and has a beam range of 180 metres. This model also supports Link technology, which allows compatible front and rear lights to be connected to form a single lighting system.

Using the Sigma Ride app, you can also customise the settings to suit your preferences, check the battery level, install firmware updates or manage lighting modes. Alternatively, the Buster 900 Link can also be operated using the Remote One.

Buster 160 for everyday use and touring

The range starts with the new Buster 160. Despite its compact design, Sigma claims it delivers up to 160 lumens of light output and a beam distance of up to 80 metres. Five lighting modes and five pre-set profiles are designed to cater for a variety of applications.

Other features include a Mode Memory function, which saves the last setting used, and a Light Guide for improved side visibility. The battery life is particularly noteworthy. According to Sigma, the Buster 160 lasts for up to 24 hours.

Connected lighting system via app

With these two Link models, Sigma is further expanding its Smart Light platform. Compatible front and rear lights can be paired with one another and configured via the Sigma Ride app. The available functions also include ‘Coming Home’, which automatically switches the lights off after a set time.
