Four new lights – but what’s new about them? It’s not so much the light output that’s truly innovative, but rather the combination of a replaceable battery, USB-C charging and a well-designed mounting system. The Hokusai Edition also offers collector’s value, but technically remains very similar to the standard GVolt 300.
Cateye is expanding its lighting range with four new models from August 2026. The range includes the GVolt 300 and GVolt 200 front lights, as well as the VIZ G and Nano G II rear lights. The range is complemented by a limited edition of the GVolt 300, with production limited to 500 units.
All lights feature a plastic housing with IPX4 water resistance and, according to the manufacturer, are manufactured in Japan. The front lights comply with the StVZO and utilise Cateye’s OptiCube lens technology. This is designed to provide broad and even illumination at close, medium and long ranges.
One striking feature is the standard inclusion of a USB-C charging port and replaceable lithium-ion batteries. This means that the batteries can be replaced as and when required, rather than having to replace the entire light.
GVolt 300: for everyday use and touring
The GVolt 300 is designed for everyday use as well as for cycling tours. With 300 lumens, its brightness exceeds that of the GVolt 200 – making it well suited to unlit routes too. With three brightness settings, it offers a runtime of three to eight hours. A three-stage battery indicator shows the charge level. The Limited Edition is distinguished primarily by its ‘Heritage’ print featuring a motif by the Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai. It is limited to 500 units.

GVolt 200 for city driving and commuting
With an output of 200 lumens, the GVolt 200 is aimed at commuters and cyclists who mainly ride in urban traffic. It also features three brightness settings and an OptiCube lens. Depending on the setting, the battery life ranges from three to six hours.

VIZ G focuses on all-round visibility
The VIZ G rear light is designed to be visible from various angles. It offers two lighting modes. According to Cateye, the battery life is seven hours in HighPower mode and up to twelve hours in Standard mode.
It is fitted without the need for tools using a Snap-System rubber mount. The rear light is also compatible with the RM3 mount, which is available separately.

The Nano G II remains compact
The Nano G II is smaller and lighter than the VIZ G. Its semi-transparent casing is designed to improve side visibility. With a battery life of nine hours in HighPower mode and up to 12.5 hours in standard mode, it offers the longest battery life in Cateye’s new range of lights.
