Trails are almost like the elixir of life for mountain bikers. So it's no wonder that trail builders enjoy a special status in the innermost circle of the mountain bike scene. But when it comes to trails, there are still far too few fun, easily accessible and, above all, legal options. As an industry, the bike industry can and must become more active. Trek is leading by example: for some time now, the company has been contributing to the creation, maintenance and preservation of trails and trail networks.
Mountain bikers unite!
The framework conditions for trail legalisation are different in every country. So how can trails be realised on a large scale? Trek is certain: clubs are the solution. When many individual athletes become a group, it not only demonstrates the need, it also creates a legal entity as a point of contact for authorities and decision-makers. This is essential, especially with regard to liability issues and road safety obligations.
With the Trail Advocacy Programme Trek has created a tool that supports associations in their work. Through the network, but above all financially. After all, without financial support, every voluntary commitment ends in a dead end at some point. The Trail Advocacy Programme is, if you like, Trek's trail building tool. However, it is clearly dedicated to the committed mountain bikers out there who get together with local authorities and landowners to improve the acceptance of mountain biking on the ground. The first projects have already been implemented.
The question remains: Where will the next offers be created? The next round of the Trek Trail Advocacy Programme is already running...
With this in mind: Rides bikes. Have fun. Feel good!
