Gel test correction: Aktiv3 Liquid Energy Pure
An error has crept into the test of energy gels in the current issue of BIKE (BIKE 8/2013, from p. 130): The gel "Aktiv3 Liquid Energie Pur" is affected. The stated calorie and carbohydrate quantities are printed incorrectly.
The 50-millilitre tube of Aktiv3 gel has 24.9 grams of carbohydrates and 100 kcal. The values printed in the booklet are halved. Measured against the correct values, the correct rating in the booklet would have been for the energy content: Five out of a possible six points.
Interesting facts about the gel: The gel is a lactose-, fructose- and gluten-free product and is therefore extremely well tolerated. The main energy sources of the gel are maltodextrin and trehalose. The product has also been enriched with sodium and potassium.
