Wahoo launches two new heart rate belts
TICKR and TICKR X are the new heart rate straps from Wahoo. They come in a new design and with updated firmware. The promise: More connectivity and performance with greater comfort.

A new, slimmer shape and an integrated belt design are intended to minimise the new Wahoo heart rate belts with only 48 grams to the lightest heart rate monitors on the market. Both devices are now only 12 millimetres thick. Both TICKR and TICKR X can now be paired with up to three Bluetooth devices simultaneously in addition to the ANT+ connections. To make the TICKR family easier to use, the LEDs are now located at the top of the pod, making it easier for users to check whether their devices are connected and recording data. By increasing the battery life by almost 50 per cent, the heart rate monitors are now said to have a battery life (CR2032 button cell) of up to 500 hours.

Wahoo TICKR X

In its updated form, the TICKR X now offers the option of transmitting the indoor cycling cadence to the Wahoo Fitness app. For running, the new TICKR X offers improved running dynamics data transmission to smartwatches via ANT+. This gives runners real-time access to their cadence, vertical running amplitude and ground contact time. The TICKR X can record up to 50 hours of training data and synchronise it with your smartphone via the Wahoo Fitness app. Price: 80 euros.

Wahoo TICKR

The more exciting heart rate monitor for mountain bikers is the TICKR, as cyclists can do without the running analysis functions of the X version. However, it does not have an acceleration sensor on board either, but this function is usually taken over by the GPS device on the handlebars. The strap, size of the pod, pairing options and battery life are identical to the more expensive X model. The new stealth design enhances the TICKR, which has long been known for its uncomplicated handling and comfort. Complementing the familiar white and blue Wahoo colour scheme, the Stealth version fits seamlessly into Stealth bundles with the GPS computers ELEMNT Roam and ELEMNT Bolt. Price: 50 euros.
