Ergometer training, whether in the gym or at home in the basement, is a question of taste and motivation. There are bikers who can endure up to six hours on such a machine, others are fed up after 60 minutes. In fact, this dry training has many advantages. First of all, it doesn't matter whether it's a spinning bike, a folding roller trainer, an ergometer or a free roller. You are independent of the weather and time of day and can ride specific programmes.
A total training time of 60 to 75 minutes is often sufficient. The time passes quickly due to the precisely defined exercise intervals. With spinning, there is no boredom or motivation problems due to the predefined intensities and fixed times. You can also use the gym for muscle training and the sauna. However, the group dynamic means you are more likely to exceed your training limits.
With roller training in the basement, you save yourself the journey and the membership fee, can choose the time of training yourself and sit on your usual bike. Videos or exciting audio books shorten the perceived training time.
