For tired bikers: tools for faster regeneration
A Blackroll is great for regeneration, but unfortunately often too strenuous after a long bike tour. With these recovery tools, you can loosen up your legs in a more relaxed way...

REEBOOTS

Recovery is good, active recovery is better. Ambitious bikers know this. When the legs reach their limit, the metabolism comes under stress. So-called waste products develop. The fascia hardens and sticks together. Massages help to loosen the fasciae and stimulate regeneration. Exercises with the Blackroll have the same effect, but are tedious. The Reboots is something like a Blackroll to put on. The legs are "squeezed" piece by piece using air pressure, which is intended to free up the fasciae. The tiredness is virtually massaged out. Professionals have been using similar devices for years. The Reboot is new.

First surprise: It's quick to set up and intuitive to use. Second surprise: The compressor, which generates the pressure in the eight air chambers per leg, works quite quietly. Watching TV is possible without increasing the volume. Programme 1 works its way chamber by chamber from the foot towards the groin. Once at the top, it starts again at the foot. For 30 minutes. There are six programmes in total. Oh, how pleasant that is! At the highest level in particular, the trousers knead the legs in a wonderful way that only a seasoned masseur with a tendency to be unrestrained can. Yes, the legs really do feel looser after the reboots have done their job. A feeling for which you would have to work intensively and extensively on the Blackroll. However, due to the high price, the Reboots is probably mainly of interest to racers who are looking for the final touches to their form.

OOFOS OORIGINAL SPORT

These US sandals made from absorbent foam promise to make you feel like you're walking on cotton wool. With these slippers, you feel as if you have plasticine on your feet. They are supposed to speed up the recovery of stressed feet and joints. We didn't feel much of this, instead our feet start to sweat quickly. Nevertheless, they are comfortable to wear.

BLUETENS

In contrast to professional devices, the smartphone-operated electrostimulation device from Bluetens costs less than half as much. Simply download the free app, connect the Bluetens box via Bluetooth and off you go. The clear app provides easy-to-understand instructions even for beginners. A maximum of four electrodes can be connected. The handy set can be used for relaxation, muscle building or to treat aches and pains. We mainly used the device for regeneration. We were particularly impressed by the simple operation and reliable function.

R8 ROLL RECOVERY

What looks like a screw clamp with inline skate rollers is actually a massage roller that works in a similar way to a Blackroll. The high spring tension of the rollers also reaches the deep muscles and stimulates blood circulation. The big advantage over a fascia roller is that you don't have to do any holding work to pull your entire body over the roller, but simply roll the device over the relevant part of the body. Even after a hard workout or competition, you can effectively loosen up your muscles while sitting on the couch. Perfect for legs and arms.
