Hands that fall asleep and hurt are a safety risk. We show you what you need to do to keep your hands on the handlebars on the descent.
The same basic rule applies to grips: the larger the surface area, the better the pressure is distributed. However, as a grip must fit the size of the hand and the diameter cannot be increased at will, it is important to support the palm of the hand and guide the arm and wrist in a straight line as far as possible. This prevents the carpal tunnel and the nerves for the fingers that run through it from being squeezed. This is usually achieved by making changes to the handlebars and stem.
If the wrist is bent less than 148 degrees horizontally and 16 degrees vertically, the nerve pathways in the hand are compressed. Numb fingers are the result. With special grips, handlebars bent towards the rider and an upright sitting position, you can relieve the strain on your hands.
PRODUCTS: More contact surface, less pressure.

HANDLES
Ergon developed the "Butterfly" grips, which support the ball of the hand and thus protect against drowsy hands. www.rti-sports.de
COCKPIT
An upright and relaxed riding position is best achieved with curved handlebars and a steep stem. This is particularly variable with the Syntace "VRO". www.syntace.de
