The most important interface is between your feet and the pedals. The right seat height and the right saddle position (see "Seat position") are essential for problem-free pedalling. If the correct settings have been made and it still pinches, you should take a closer look at the cleat position: It should be just behind the sesamoid bone, i.e. centred behind the ball of the foot. It also makes sense to support the arch of the foot according to its anatomical shape. The best way to do this is with suitable insoles. They reduce the springing of the foot, which is needed to support the body weight when walking. If you still have knee problems, you should be measured or advised by a trained specialist retailer (body scanning).

SHOES

With the "SH-M 300", Shimano offers a fully customisable shoe that is hot-moulded to the foot - goodbye pressure points. Tip: If you need more arch support, you should insert a suitable insole before customising. Info: www.paul-lange.de
