Body analysis, laser measurement or video analysis? Which method is right for you and where can you get advice? An overview.

Body analysis

Physiological tests and exercises are used to determine strength, mobility, possible complaints or pre-existing conditions and to measure the size and alignment of relevant body parts. The procedure is reminiscent of a visit to the physiotherapist. The comprehensive body analysis is followed by the technical fitting. The optimum setting is found on a stationary bike and then transferred to your own bike. The dealer's experience is paramount here.

Laser measurement

Laser measurement is contactless. The body is measured at four points using the light beam and a computer system uses this data to calculate the ideal geometry of the bike. Based on these specifications, the existing bike is adjusted or a suitable bike is recommended for a new purchase. Sometimes the measurement is offered free of charge when buying a bike.

Video analysis

During the consultation, the dealer will ask you about your goals and needs. For the video analysis, your bike is then placed on the roller and you are allowed to pedal. During the movement on the bike, video recordings are made from the side and front and analysed on the computer. With the help of these results, the correct position on the bike is then adjusted or parts of the bike are replaced until the sitting posture is right.
