The model range of the Forchheim-based mail order company has always been characterised by downhill-oriented models. When it was launched two years ago, the Izzo trail bike was the first attempt to satisfy the needs of kilometre-hungry bikers. However, the 130-millimetre fully also carries the downhill genes of its siblings. So it's no wonder that the Izzo Core 3 also comes out on top in this comparison. The Fox suspension greedily absorbs fine bumps and even big chunks. As a result, the Izzo is very plush on the trail. The wide cockpit and the high stack value also convey a lot of riding confidence. The stiff frame also reinforces the Izzo's confident demeanour on downhills. However, if you want to play with the bike on the trail, you will miss some support in the suspension. This is because a lot of energy is lost in the suspension travel when pushing off jumps and bumps.
Max Fuchs, BIKE Editor: With the Izzo, YT continues to offer a solid overall package for trail bikers who prioritise downhill riding. Those who prefer to rack up the kilometres will be bothered by the high weight and the lively rear end. Lighter wheels would give the bike more range in no time at all.
