Admittedly, at first glance, the Santa Cruz Bullit doesn't stand out from the herd of new e-mountainbikes. Perhaps because of its eye-catching colour scheme, but not because of the ingredients: Shimano EP8 drive with a classically integrated 630 watt-hour battery, MX wheel mix - nothing that the e-MTB world hasn't seen before. But even on the first few metres of trail, the Bullit sheds its camouflage and shows its wolf teeth. Dripping with confidence and power, the newcomer proves that you can stand out from the crowd even without extravagant drive philosophies or geometries. And that is precisely the approach at Santa Cruz: they want to stand out through their riding characteristics.
The Californians lay the foundation with a full carbon frame and the MX wheel mix with a 29er front wheel and 27.5-inch rear wheel. Like the fork, the VPP rear suspension provides a full 170 millimetres of travel. As with all new Santa Cruz models, the shock on the Bullit is also controlled by the lower rocker link. What's the benefit? The lower shock also lowers the bike's centre of gravity, which has a positive effect on riding stability. But the Bullit is not a sluggish downhill beast.
You can find a detailed driving report with all the facts and lab results as a PDF in the download area below. The PDF costs 0.99 euros. Why not free of charge? Because quality journalism has a price. In return, we guarantee independence and objectivity. This applies in particular to the tests in EMTB. We don't charge for them, but the opposite is the case: we do charge for them - tens of thousands of euros every year.
