UK trail bike: Nukeproof Reactor 290c Elite on test
Back in 1996, the name Reactor adorned the aluminium frame, or rather the parallelogram fork, of a hardtail from Nukeproof. We were excited to test the new MTB full-suspension bike from Nukeproof.

However, the new Reactor with its carbon frame and 135 millimetres of travel at the rear only has the name in common with the former bike. For € 3800, Nukeproof has put a downhill-orientated fully on the tyres that straddles the trail and all-mountain categories. Even though the nominal suspension travel is manageable, the rear of the Reactor feels very plush.

Read the test to find out how sensitive the Nukeproof Reactor's suspension feels. You can find the article as a PDF in the download area below.

The test costs 0.99 euros. Why not free of charge? Because quality journalism has a price. In return, we guarantee independence and objectivity. This applies in particular to the tests in BIKE. We don't pay for them, but the opposite is the case: we charge for them - hundreds of thousands of euros every year.
