With the Fuel EX, industry giant Trek has thoroughly renovated its best-selling bike and added smart details. Read our test report to find out how the MTB fully rides and what its strengths are.

An enduro bike as an egg-laying wool-milk sow - that's a thing of the past. Talented all-rounders are more likely to be found among pimped-up trail bikes that don't shy away from long climbs. The Fuel EX falls exactly into this category. Like Specialized, Trek uses the down tube of the latest generation of Fuel EX mountain bikes as a luggage compartment for small items. However, the opening is significantly smaller (31 cm² less), which makes access a little fiddly. For better downhill performance, the Fuel EX 9.8 is fitted with 2.6 tyres and an enduro suspension fork with voluminous stanchions. This increases the weight to a ready-to-ride 13.6 kilos - not a top value for this category.

You can find a large selection of Trek Fuel MTB models in the online shop of Liquid Life or Bicycle XXL.
