Since last year, the Swiss company has been pooling its expertise behind the Stoll Bike brand together with a small team and offering an exclusive carbon fibre fully platform. As a premium supplier with frame production in Germany, Stoll draws on a wealth of expertise and, after a personal test ride with the customer, customises the carbon layup of the frame to their needs. BIKE has already been able to test the trail version with a measured 138 millimetres at the rear. Despite the wide tyres and rims and without any lazy compromises, the 29er only weighs 11.47 kilos without pedals. A first-class value. Added to this is the VPP rear triangle, which revolves around stainless steel ball bearings and has been trimmed by Stoll for optimum efficiency. The result is impressive. Even without a shock platform, the rear triangle remains extremely stable even when pedalling and converts the rider's energy into pure propulsion. The rear triangle was manufactured completely symmetrically and has a very wide bearing spacing to compensate for chain pull by the rider. Nevertheless, the rear triangle, which is completely mounted on ball bearings (including the shock eyelets), is firm but by no means insensitive to small obstacles and offers high reserves against bottoming out. In addition to various test laps, the sporty T1 also impressed us on the Ronda Piccola at the marathon in Riva. And it did so without having to use the platform on the shock even once. Downhill, the T1 is very balanced and safe. If you like it more downhill, you can also choose a 140 mm fork.
Conclusion Peter Nilges, BIKE Test Manager:
Peter Nilges, BIKE Test Manager The T1 is one of the best trail bikes I've ridden in a long time. Its looks, function and features make this exclusive fully a real treat. It is also the only carbon-fibre fully whose frame is manufactured in Germany. An extremely powerful trail bike that also cuts a top figure in demanding marathons.
