The electronic XTR Di2 drivetrain is connected to the Steps E8000 - the selected gear appears on the display and the gear changes are smooth. The Fox-damped rear suspension is firm and provides good feedback, but sags a little too much on the climbs, which makes the front end light and prevents a better performance in the uphill discipline. Points are also deducted for the reach: on the test bench, the lightweight only reached 1085 metres in altitude - here too, we suspect a faulty battery.
CONCLUSION The lightest bike in the test field is well equipped and would perform even better with a fully intact battery.
