Superior XF: the perfect partner for long tours
At the Eurobike Media Days, Superior is presenting a lightweight touring fully with a sporty character. We have already ridden the Superior XF 999 bike.

In Germany, the Czech brand Superior is still relatively unknown, but this could quickly change thanks to the exciting models and good value for money. At the Eurobike Media Days, Superior is presenting a new race fully with a full carbon frame for the first time. However, the trail bike with the model name XF is likely to be more exciting for most bikers. The main frame is the same as the XC race fully, but the touring-oriented XF model has a 130 millimetre suspension fork and an aluminium rear triangle with 120 instead of 100 millimetres of travel. The Superior XF 999 (top model) costs 4000 euros and weighs 11.9 kilos without pedals.

In the event of a fall, this effectively protects the carbon frame from damage caused by brake and gear levers hitting the frame.Photo: Wolfgang Watzke The headset of the Superior has an integrated steering stop limiter. First driving impression of the new Superior XF 999

The first few metres we pedal the Superior XF 999 to the start of the trail make it immediately clear that this bike has its genes on the racetrack. With a sporty riding position and light-footed acceleration, the MTB climbs even the steepest ramps with little effort. The low handlebars ensure that the front wheel always stays on the ground. On descents, the Superior XF 999 performs somewhat less confidently despite the dropper seat post. Moderate trails are a lot of fun to ride, but the firm suspension doesn't provide much comfort. On steep sections, the low handlebars prevent a secure riding experience. The Superior XF is a sporty touring bike that won't shy away from a marathon start. Trail hunters will be happier with other bikes.
