Potent trail bike: Cube Stereo Hybrid 140 TM on test
Cube is the only manufacturer to fit Schwalbe tyres with a stable super-gravity casing and gives the Stereo the very grippy Magic Mary tyre at the front.

This measure alone makes for a lot of riding fun. The bike is really good thanks to the good suspension elements and the resulting plush chassis, which feels like it has more than 140 millimetres of travel at the rear. Uphill, the grip is excellent and the handling is good. The Bosch pushes enormously. Only the slightly too short top tube and the resulting very upright riding position are annoying on the climbs. Downhill, the good suspension and the successful tyre combination conceal this geometry weakness. The fork works well, but the favourable damping unit reaches its limits at high speeds. Nevertheless, the Cube delivers a successful mix of manoeuvrability and smoothness. High speeds are possible without feeling unsafe. The powerful and easy to modulate Magura MT7 brakes play their part in this. The rest of the equipment is also high quality and good.

Conclusion: Suspension, equipment and handling are impressive. The Stereo presents itself as a potent trail bike. If in doubt, choose a size larger.
