New trail bike from Raaw: the Jibb
After the Madonna enduro MTB, Raaw presents a second aluminium bike with a wide range of uses. The Jibb trail bike with 135 mm suspension travel should also shine in the bike park.

It has been about twelve months since Raaw left the second version ("V2") of his enduro bike Madonna presented. Now the aluminium lovers from the Allgäu want to have a playful, short-stroke fun bike with Madonna genes on 29-inch wheels. Direct, playful and balanced, their new Jibb trail bike should also cut a fine figure in the bike park.

The Jibb has 135 millimetres of suspension travel at the rear and 150 millimetres at the front. A 160 mm fork can also be fitted as an option. A Formula rear shock is fitted as standard. If you are patient enough to wait until May, you can also order a Fox shock. This is due to supply bottlenecks at the suppliers. The 3.6-kilo aluminium frame is designed for 29-inch wheels and single drivetrains. In addition to the frameset from 2290 euros, there will also be a limited number of complete bikes. The complete bikes must be pre-ordered. They will be delivered in May and start at 5490 euros.

The four-link rear suspension with its large rocker link is already familiar from the Madonna V2 and should become even more progressive towards the end of the travel. This should ensure optimum utilisation of the suspension travel and, in conjunction with the moderate reach and the 65.5 degree slack head angle, increase the fun factor.

Durability more important than weight saving

Raaw relies on the advantages of aluminium and a sophisticated geometry, although around 500 grams could be saved by using carbon on the Jibb frame. To make the frame even more durable, Raaw only uses sealed industrial bearings. The cables are routed outside the frame in the usual service-friendly manner. A water bottle and holder fit easily into the front frame triangle.

Geometry

The geometry of the Jibb is designed to combine playfulness and safety. The moderate reach in combination with the 445 millimetre long chainstays should ensure a balanced riding experience. The 77.5 degree steep, effective seat angle should provide the necessary uphill performance.

A 65.5 degree head angle paired with a moderate reach and 445 millimetre chainstays are clear trail bike attributes. Nevertheless, the Raaw Jibb is more likely to be a downhill trail bike that can also compete with all-mountain bikes.
