Even against the new integrated Shimano batteries from the high-end test group, the Moustache down tube looks really slim. Visually, the Moustache is one of the most successful designs of the year. In the riding test, the French bike performed solidly, but didn't receive thunderous applause in any discipline. It rides a little nervously in comparison, the rear suspension feels tough and over-damped. The fork is also not particularly sensitive. On the other hand, the Moustache scores points with decent laboratory values. It is stiff and well balanced. The frame has the potential for a better overall rating.
ConclusionGreat concept, visually successful integration of the Bosch battery. However, the riding characteristics suffer from the sluggish chassis.
