More Enduro than XC: Trek Top Fuel 8 on test
Instead of just tweaking the details, Trek is redesigning its Top Fuel 8 down-country bike from the ground up for 2022. We have tested it.

With the Top Fuel 8, we have already been able to test the most expensive aluminium version of the 120-millimetre bike. The first surprise: compared to last year, the model costs exactly 1000 euros more. That's a hefty surcharge. On the other hand, the equipment is of higher quality throughout. Instead of a Rockshox Recon Gold, there is now a SID RL in the head tube. The gears are no longer shifted with Sram's affordable NX drivetrain, but with a Shimano XT. There are also higher quality brakes on top.

Find out how the Trek Top Fuel 8 fared in the BIKE test lab and in practical testing in the test from BIKE 12/2021, which you can conveniently download as a PDF below.

The test costs 0.99 euros. Why not free of charge? Because quality journalism has a price. In return, we guarantee independence and objectivity. This applies in particular to the tests in BIKE. We don't pay for them, but the opposite is the case: we charge for them, hundreds of thousands of euros every year.
