Moderate touring bike: Haibike Sduro Hardseven 6.0
Mountain-ready gearing, powerful Bosch motor, moderate riding position: with the Haibike, the journey to the mountain pasture is relaxed.

The powerful Bosch motor achieves an impressive reach and makes the Hardseven 6.0 an enduring touring ace. However, the bike is only partially comfortable on demanding terrain. The stem is long and the steering angle steep, which leads to nervous riding behaviour. The 27.5-inch wheels also offer less safety than larger 29ers. The narrow tyres also offer only moderate grip, which is just as noticeable on steep ramps on loose ground as it is on demanding descents and fast corners. At least the wide handlebars provide control, the Magura brakes are powerful and the Suntour fork works reliably. The rest of the equipment is also well chosen, only the remote control for the fork lockout seems superfluous on the E-MTB.

Conclusion: Moderate tourer with solid equipment and a comfortable riding position. However, the Haibike quickly runs out of steam on more demanding terrain.

Florentin Vesenbeckh has been on a mountain bike since he was ten years old. Even on his very first tour, he focussed on single trails - and even after more than 30 years in the saddle of an MTB, these are still the quintessence of biking for him. He spent his youth competing in various bike disciplines and later his cycling career was characterised by years as a riding technique coach. Professionally, the experienced test editor now focusses on e-mountainbikes. In recent years, the qualified sports scientist and trained journalist has tested over 300 bikes and more than 40 different motor systems in the laboratory and in practice.
