Only the Maestro rear suspension is borrowed from its big brother Giant. And rightly so, because it works quietly and efficiently, but irons out root carpets sensitively and with optimum stroke utilisation. No bobbing when pedalling. The fork harmonises well with the rear end, giving the rider a good balance. The steepest steering angle in the test field enables agile, almost playful handling. We would only wish for a 28 t chainring on the 1x11 drivetrain for long and steep climbs.
ConclusionAll-round successful trail bike with the best uphill performance and the second-best downhill performance (behind Canyon).
AlternativeThe Pique is also available in the carbon version Advanced 1, price: 4299 euros.
