Zesty XM is the name of Lapierre's new 2016 trail bike with 27.5-inch wheels and 120 millimetres of travel. The French company no longer has any fullys with 29-inch wheels in its range. A total of six models are available - three aluminium versions, three models with carbon frames. French downhill legend Nicolas Vouilloz helped with the development of the frame, which is designed to provide relaxed downhill performance with slacker angles and a longer top tube.
Lapierre's equipment starts with reliable and affordable, but also heavier parts: The entry-level model Zesty XM 227 (photo above) for 2299 euros comes with Rock Shox Sektor Gold RL fork (130 mm) and Rock Shox Monarch R shock (120 mm), Shimano mix for gears and brakes and a rigid seat post.
From the Zesty XM 327 model onwards, there is a Kind Shock Cruxi telescopic seatpost, while the electronic EI-Shock suspension is available from the XM 427 model onwards. From the XM 527 model onwards, the frame is made of carbon and the weight slips below the 13-kilo mark. Customers can also order a customised setup based on the carbon frame, the Zesty XM Ultimate. With electronic Shimano XTR Di2 (1x11), the price is around 7500 euros.
The Lapierre Zesty XM will be available from March 2016 in sizes S, M, L and XL. Further information on the Lapierre website
