The cables, which disappear into the head tube and only leave the inside of the carbon main frame at the most necessary points, are also beautifully designed and run under the radar. The bike with the most travel in the test group blossoms on the descents, impresses with harmonious components and a dropper post. In terms of geometry, the AMR strikes the right balance between composure and manoeuvrability and is therefore equipped for both tight corners and fast root passages. However, as soon as the chain pull kicks in on the counter-climb, the rear shock starts to pump and calls for the trail or even climb platform on the Fox shock. 2.35 Nobby Nics would have been a better match for the suspension, which is full of travel. The Kindshock dropper post was sometimes reluctant to do its job.
ConclusionThe AMR chassis feels much more comfortable as a trail bike than in the enduro environment last tested. Drive influences disrupt the performance. Only a two-year warranty.
The alternative: The SL AMR 7 model rolls onto the trails with an aluminium frame instead of a carbon frame and therefore costs a little less. However, for € 2999, the bike has the same equipment as the € 300 more expensive carbon bike.
