SE means for CannondaleMore suspension travel, thicker tyres - in short: more fun. The Americans do not specify a specific gear ratio for SE. We think "Fun Edition" fits quite well. The Moterra SE is positioned between the "normal" Moterra with 130 millimetres of travel and the "Long Travel" with 160 millimetres. It is based on the 130 mm Moterra, but has a 140 millimetre fork.
Like all other Moterra bikes, the SE version also comes with the Bosch Performance CX motor and 500 Wh battery. The special feature of the Moterra line is noticeable at first glance: The Americans don't simply bolt the energy reservoir onto the down tube, but hang it on the bottom. The resulting lower centre of gravity makes for a very good handling, as the Moterra proved in the EMTB test.
The Cannondale Moterra SE is available from dealers for 5700 euros. The Fox 34 Performance E-Optimised fork with 140 millimetres of travel absorbs the shocks at the front, while a Fox Float shock with 130 millimetres at the rear. The eight gears are shifted by the Sram EX1 drivetrain and the brakes are fitted with Guide RE stoppers. The 2.85 inch wide Onza Canis sits on a 30 millimetre wide WTB rim.
