At the same time, it is stingy with travel at the rear: 120 millimetres is the minus record in the test field. The testers felt this on the climbs. The rear doesn't work smoothly. The rear end doesn't soak up rock steps, but passes on the impact. This costs power and grip. At the same time, you have to actively put pressure on the front wheel via the stub stem, otherwise the bike climbs early. Downhill, this extreme geometry offers potential - if you are experienced and very active. You can only get enough pressure on the front wheel for traction in corners if your centre of gravity is consistently forward. The Maxxis tyre has too little tread and slips quickly. The rear is also rather firm on downhill sections, and the low front end gives the rider little confidence on steep gradients. OK for experienced riders, but otherwise not an easy guarantee of fun.
Conclusion: Little travel at the rear and extreme geometry: the Mondraker doesn't make it easy for its rider. A trail bike for experienced riders. The choice of tyres is not ideal.
