You hardly dare to get on the bike with grass-green trousers. Even downhill, the Focus whizzes around the trees like the Fiat 500 through city traffic. The 2.4-inch wide front tyre ensures optimum traction, while a 2.2-inch tyre saves weight at the rear. And that brings us to the bike's problem areas: at 13.3 kilos, it is the heaviest bike in the test field. The wheels of all things, i.e. the moving mass, add up to a total of 4804 grams. As a result, the Focus feels relatively sluggish on the climbs. The ergonomically shaped wing grips also take some getting used to. They prevent your fingers from falling asleep, but they prevented us from finding a secure grip.
Nicole Beege, bike tester: Beautifully styled touring trail bike for beginners. If you are prepared to invest a little more, you can have lighter wheels fitted in the shop. The bike then climbs much more agilely.
