Long, low and flat - that's the credo of many manufacturers. But hardly any other bike brand implements this concept as radically as Nicolai. It comes as no surprise that bikes with such progressive geometries are not only ridden on "normal" tours. That's why the company from Lower Saxony is going one better: Originally, the Saturn 14 had no bike park approval and suspension forks with a maximum of 34-millimetre stanchions; after all, the frame weight should be as low as possible. Thanks to the "modular frame system" and frame production in Mehle, you can now buy a reinforced version with bike park approval. The frame is given the suffix ST. Please note: The abbreviation stands for SUPERTRAIL and not SUPER TRAVEL as is usually the case with Nicolai. A Saturn 14 frame with the ST suffix has a thicker-walled down tube, seat tube and top tube as well as castings on the head tube. The hoof of the swingarm has also been replaced to make the rear end even stiffer. The frame should therefore fulfil the highest requirements and withstand almost all the stresses and strains that occur when riding.
However, it is also important for the bike park that the frame can withstand loads caused by riding errors or crashes. According to Nicolai's experience, the crash density in the bike park is significantly higher than on home trails or on tours. The Saturn 14 ST should therefore be particularly robust. According to Nicolai, everything is possible, from day tours to bike park use.
Ronny Racing played a key role in the development of the Saturn 14 ST and tested the frame extensively. Nicolai is therefore offering the bike in the Ronny Racing design. Ten promotional frames are available for customers at a price of 1999 euros. The frame colour is raw with a combination of green, red and orange add-on parts. Ronny Racing provides a jersey in the size of the customer's choice.
